I love making various “cheeses” to eat with my gluten free, soy free, corn free pasta. And not being biased t all, I really do think that these cheeses leave so much room for exciting flavours and exciting dishes.
Anyway, here’s the recipe.
1 cup cooked yellow split peas
1/2 red onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 tsp turmeric powder or 1/2 tsp minced turmeric root
nutritional yeast (optional)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp lime juice
salt to taste,
Blend all ingredients until creamy. Taste and adjust salt, making it a bit saltier than you would.
If using it as a dip, do not make it salty, unless this is the way you like it.
