2 cups red lentils
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp roasted geera (optional)
½ tsp turmeric powder
4 cloves garlic diced
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Cook lentils until they become a paste.
In a frying pan heat oil and sauté garlic until they lightly begin to turn brown. Add turmeric and stir until turmeric begins to darken. Add oregano, geera and tomato paste and cook until tomato paste turns dark.
Add lentils and ¼ cup water and salt to taste. Cook for 1 minute on low heat.
Serve hot with a slice of lemon or lime on the side.
